Traditional Origami Star – How To

Here is how you could make the traditional origami star. I’ve tried to make the tutorial self explanatory with the pictures. Have fun!

How To fold a paper star:

Step 1:

Start with a square sheet of paper.

Step 2:

Fold the square sheet in half along the diagonal to form a triangle. Bring one corner of the triangle to the corner pointing down.

Step 3:

Step 4:

Unfold.

Step 5:

Fold in half.

Step 6:

Lift the top layer and fold as shown.

Step 7:

Step 8:

Lift the top layer.

Step 9:

Fold to make it meet the left corner.

Step 10:

Open up one layer as shown.

Step 11:

Bring out the layer and flatten.

Step 12:

Step 14:

Step 15:

Assess the center using a scale – starting from the right corner to meet the center point of the opposite side.

Step 16:

Fold the top layer along this line.

Step 17:

Flip.

Step 18:

Fold the top layer in half by folding the right corner to meet the left corner.

Step 19:

Step 20:

Tilt to get your star.
