Velvet Flower Making – Tutorial

Velvet flowers are simple, can be made in very little time and these serve as elegant embellishments.

Step 1:

Start by cutting out the velvet cloth like a ribbon. You can cut the ribbon with a 8 inch length and maybe 1.5 inch height.

Step 2:

Flip the velvet ribbon and draw a curve pattern as shown.

Step 3:

Cut the cloth along this pattern.

Step 4:

Start by gathering the velvet cloth at one end using the sewing needle and thread.

Step 5:

Continue to gather the velvet cloth till the opposite end of the cloth.

Step 6:

Join both the ends of the cloth together and secure it using a double knot.

Step 7:

Using a strong adhesive, paste a rhinestone at the center of the flower.

Allow it to dry.

Depending on the color of your flower, pick the color of the rhinestone.

You can use these velvet flowers to decorate handmade cards and attach while making embroidery on outfits as well.
